In today's mail! The certificate for my Canberra Half Marathon Australian Record, 2nd May 2010 at the ACTCCC Road Running Festival. I am so excited and proud to have achieved this recognition! My third Australian Record too!
I wouldn't advise this pre-race preparation for you or anyone, Ewen. Not socially acceptable to my mind.
In my case it worked well; I think because I wasn't expecting it to happen that way and then I seem to have been able to call on other sources of energy and enthusiasm to race well.... hence the Australian Record.
In your case I would avoid it happening in Melbourne!
Wow LL - that's so exciting. Huge congratulations. I do hope you frame that certificate. It's really special. :)
ReplyDeleteWoohoo! That is wonderful LL, congratulations! Strewth is right; you should frame that! xx
ReplyDeleteJust awesome Norma. Now for that Marathon record at Sydney.
ReplyDeleteFantastic achievement. Onwards and upwards!
ReplyDeleteYou're good. The marathon certificate will go perfectly hanging on the wall beside it.
ReplyDeleteEwen, the secret to success is to have nothing to eat for 24 hours prior to racing. Worked for me!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much to everyone for all those lovely comments!
ReplyDeleteIt makes it all the happier for me to be able to share this success with friends.
Ha ha. Thanks for sharing your secret. If I'm not starving I'll try it for the Melbourne Half.
