Program : A Rest Day.
I was absolutely spent last night after only running 18km during the day. I was so surprised to feel so terribly tired....almost the way I feel after I've run a marathon! So I was pleased to find I had a rest day today & feel OK again, I guess. How can 18km make one feel so pulled down?
Does make me a little worried though about the 30+km run on Sunday!!
I'm sure you well know by now that there are always crap runs to get out of the way before the good ones - this means that the 30k run will be a blinder as you've just got the crappy one out of the way ;-)
ReplyDeleteOn the wrong day, 18k will do you *worse* than a marathon. Enjoy the rest day. They never seem to come often enough :-)

I can feel bad after a 10k race. So you can after an 18k training run. Some days we are just not 'on song' even in our training. Makes us think about the next session more to improve our running.
ReplyDeleteI always felt that way too LL.
ReplyDeleteI think we build up the long long runs so much that we expect some pain and tiredness but get suprised when we feel that way on other smaller (but still long) runs.
Speedwork usually tires me out more than a 30km run - if I am pushing myself, or like Superflake said, in a 10km race.
