A Long Run ends.....

It's been coming for a while now, but as of today I finished my long run as part of 'Cool Running'. I find I'm no longer interested in most of the threads & neither am I impressed with the direction that too many seem to be taking..... I'll leave it at that & move on.

12km today @ AHR 76%....medium aerobic. Try for negative split.

Got the negative split by 2 minutes!
6km in 45 minutes; 6km in 43 minutes.
AHR 76%; MHR 86%

I ran on Range Road. The morning was absolute heaven for running : overcast & quite cool. I felt good for the entire run even though I had to raise the pace for the return 6km.

A rest day tomorrow....even more heavenly!

  1. A very sad day Norma. Your race report from the Canberra 50km in 2004 was one of the reasons that I joined Cool Running. I hope you pop in from time to time. We will miss you.

  2. And so the world turns :-(

Please don't say goodbye, but maybe just 'see you later'. I'm sure that there'll be races to be reported on, and stories of races still to come (and you wouldn't want to miss all our post-race tales of courage and stupidity either...)

I'm looking forward to the next time that I get the chance to call out "c'mon Norma" across a race course, and then regale all the runners around me with tales of the legendary chicky-babe :-)

  3. I'm so sorry to hear you feel like that LL. You will always be a very important part of CR in my mind.

Could you maybe pop back when the dust settles?

  4. I agree with your view. I don't spend much time on the site anymore. Now we've got blogs it's easy to keep in touch with each other and their training...provided you have the time to read all the blogs!

    See you at the races!

  5. One rotten apple does not spoil the CR barrel Norma. Please don't stay away too long !

  6. I'm also sorry that we won't be seeing you on CR anymore LL, must admit I've hung up the blue and yellow cap and tend to go incognito these days when pounding the pavements. Hopefully we will still be seeing you at plenty of races though

    Take care

  7. Like the others I'm sorry to see you go. I'm glad you aren't leaving Blogsville ... I need the inspiration I gain from your posts!

PS Maybe you should join the fun crowd over at Facebook :)
