Day 1 - Back in God's Country...

.....on a brilliant morning! Top of 21 degrees forecast, sunny & a very slight breeze.

I can absolutely recommend - and am living proof of - having 3 days doing anything but running is the way to go every now & again. I did things like eat a lot, drink a little(!), be with like-minded friends, visit Galleries, sit on the grass in the sun, watch others run for a change, etc....

Having done all of the above, I thoroughly enjoyed & was refreshed for this morning's run.

Program : Easy Run for about 50 to 60 minutes.

Loosened up in the soccer field.

Diamond Fields Road, but turned off into Blackman's Lane for a change : 28 minutes out; took a photo or two & back to the soccer field.

Distance: 7.5km

Time: 54 minutes @ 78% of MHR.

  1. Thanks for the reminder LL. We often get so carried away with our training, getting faster or stronger, racing etc that we don't take time out to smell the roses so to speak.

A break of a few days will do little to our training and in fact like you have suggested - can actually be a big boost for motivation and allows us to freshen the legs as well.

That's it - two weeks off for me ......after the race on Sunday :)
