SMH Half Marathon

I couldn't repeat all details of yesterday; it's all in my post on the main Message Board, along with those of the many other CRs who ran.
For the first time in 2 years, I finished (thanks to Vat_Man) in under 2 & 1/2 hours .....2:28:05. 5km splits were 35:19; 35:55; 35:36; 34:18. A wonderful, never-to-be-forgotten day... And a very, very weary Chickybabe today!

  1. Hi LL

Great to see you had a good run. This must bode well for the GCM. Thanks for the words of advice on the start line and for settling my nerves. I had a good time out there and have decided I quite like this running stuff.. or is that just those endorphins talking!

Sorry we didn't see you finish, Stephen tore his calf muscle on the 2nd km and had to pull out, (his first ever DNF) and so we headed off when I finished.

Thanks again and see you soon.

  3. Very impressive time. Negative splitting a race is a good achievement.

Negative splitting life with best time for over two years is an even greater achievement.

  4. Great to see you had a good run, LLO. Wobbly Man, Slowjo and I were wondering how you were going when we were doing our Sri Chinmoy half at Williamstown yesterday.

Lots of Vic CRs will be at the Gold Coast ... almost time to start counting down ... ... almost!

  7. LL - great finish to the SMH Half, and a pleasure to accompany you home. That was an impressive surge you put on the finish there - Linno probably thought she had you well beaten!

A good result, and I'm sure a great boost for Gold Coast,

    Cheers.

  9. Awesome run out there Chickybabe. You looked so strong and determined. It was so good to see you bounce back after the shattering experience in Canberra. This was the first step on the road to redemption at Canberra in 06.
