Training for GC Marathon... Week 11

Starting with today's session, the plan will be to train for GC marathon on 3 days only each week. I think more rest days are needed to revitalise my addled brain as well as the rest of the body.

So today was just 6km on flat road, which is difficult to find here, trying to keep an even pace of around 7:50min/km.

Results were : 7:36; 7:53; 7:47; 7:53; 7:56; 7:28. Short distance, no chance of getting lost, but at a reasonable speed....for Chickybabe!

  1. I am so envious. My hip is still a problem and I am not yet back running. My physio has given up on me - and I gave up on her a bit too.

I have an appointment next week to see a whiz bang sports doctor. Maybe he can tell me what the problem is and I can finally start to do something about it!

In the meantime I read your blog with oodles of envy. Keep on running LL so I can run with you in spirit.

  2. I'm about to start again, too - 500m jog and a power walk each day, then a 3-4k run on Saturday to test out the knee ... YAY!

AND I've been told that the marathon at the Gold Coast is ON! See you there!

  3. Hubby and I are sitting here having a giggle. He says it must be a sign.

My appointment on the 26th April is with Dr Ken Crichton at his clinic in Crows Nest. He was recommended by a fellow Run Club participant as the best.

I promise to let you kow how it goes.

  6. As paulc said: "enjoy the journey" Chickybabe. The nice flat journey! Watch out for wayward bikers.

By the way, you are making me feel guilty. Like eddie, I've been a lazy marsupial since that day, preferring the comfort of my wombat hole and a tasty carrot.
